Our starting points
Start with your catalogue
Give each collection and product a useful role
We review the structure in the context of your actual range. The aim is to help customers reach the right products and understand the differences between them.
Collections and navigation
We'll review how collections are named, linked and organised in the menus. Collection copy should help a shopper understand the range and make a choice. Overlapping collections need a clear purpose before more are added.
Product content and shared templates
We can review the information used across product pages, including specifications, compatibility, variant descriptions and buying questions. Shared templates make consistency useful, but product-specific details still need to come from reliable product information.
Search listings and images
Page titles, descriptions and image text should accurately describe the content. We'll agree a manageable set of improvements and check that the visible page supports the search listing, rather than changing metadata without reviewing the customer experience.
Understand the current setup
Check what your theme and apps are producing
Shopify documents built-in SEO features, including automatically generated sitemaps and canonical tags, alongside editable search listings. We start by checking the store itself and the output of its current theme and apps.
The review can cover heading structure, internal links, product structured data, mobile usability and performance issues. If multiple apps or theme components produce overlapping output, we identify the source before recommending a change. Installing another SEO app is not automatically the next step.
Where theme code or specialist development is needed, we will separate the recommendation from the implementation work and agree responsibilities. Proposed changes should be checked in a suitable preview and reviewed against the buying journey before publication.
Plan before changing URLs
Handle launches, retired products and migrations carefully
Products and collections change as a store develops. Before removing or renaming an important page, we'll review its existing search activity, links and role in the catalogue. A useful replacement should match what the visitor was trying to find.
Shopify URL redirects have specific limitations, including that a redirect will not work while the source URL still serves a valid page. We can help plan the mapping and verify the resulting journey rather than assume every saved redirect is working.
For a migration or substantial theme change, agree the scope before launch. We can help record important URLs, review proposed replacements and check key pages afterwards. Tracking and trading context also need reviewing so a later change in performance can be investigated properly.
A practical implementation plan
Keep the work aligned with your trading priorities
We'll review your store, available Search Console and analytics data, and the categories or launches you want to support. The output is an ordered set of changes with a clear purpose, an owner and any dependencies.
Some work can be completed through Shopify's content and navigation settings. Other changes need your developer, theme supplier or app provider. We'll make that distinction early, then review relevant search activity and commercial results where the tracking supports a reliable comparison.

Before you decide
Your questions, answered.
Tell us about your business if you are not sure where to start.
Do we need an SEO app?
We would review the problem and current setup first. Shopify has built-in SEO features, and some improvements use existing content or theme settings. An app should solve a defined need without creating unnecessary overlap or ongoing maintenance.
Will you change our theme?
Only as part of an agreed scope. We can review the current theme and identify what needs attention. Content and navigation improvements may be enough for some priorities; changes requiring development should be separately assessed, tested and approved.
Can you help when products or collections are being removed?
Yes. We can review which URLs have value, identify appropriate destinations and prepare a change plan. Redirect behaviour and internal links need checking after the change, particularly where the catalogue or store structure is being reorganised.
How does this differ from an ecommerce SEO strategy?
Ecommerce strategy sets priorities around your range, customers and commercial goals. Shopify SEO focuses on how those priorities are implemented within Shopify, including collections, product templates, settings, theme behaviour and the effects of installed apps.
