A real example from our own website

What a practical SEO audit should tell you.

A useful audit connects evidence to a clear next action. This extract uses SEO Help’s own website, reviewed on 1 November 2026, to show how we assess an issue, explain its importance and check the result.

This is a demonstration of our method, not a client case study or a claim of ranking or revenue improvement.

Example 01 · Check the evidence first

An exclusion report did not reflect the current pages.

01

Observation

An older Search Console summary listed the homepage, contact page and pricing page as excluded. Fresh URL Inspections showed all three were indexed, with successful fetches and matching Google-selected canonicals.

02

Business impact and priority

High priority to investigate, but no indexing repair was needed for those three pages once the current evidence was reconciled. Acting only on the older summary could waste time changing pages that Google already indexes.

03

Recommendation

Compare the report date, Google’s last crawl and the individual URL inspection. Check the submitted sitemap, canonical and live availability before choosing a fix.

04

Verification

Record the URL, inspection date, crawl result and canonical decision. An indexable live page and an indexed page are different findings, so report each accurately.

Example 02 · Focus on useful landing pages

An empty shop collection added no value.

Observation: the site’s /collections/frontpage URL had no products, yet was published to the online store and included in the sitemap.

Impact and priority: a medium priority cleanup. The page did not help a visitor understand or buy an SEO service. Getting every empty URL indexed is not a useful objective.

Recommendation: remove the unused collection from the online store while keeping the underlying record available. Keep internal links focused on the relevant service pages.

Verification: check the public response and the regenerated sitemap after the change, then allow Google to recrawl. A change on the website is not evidence that Google has already updated its index.

Example 03 · Help people assess the business

Experience and company identity needed to be clearer.

Observation: the earlier footer used the trading name without the registered company details. The About page did not clearly identify the person leading the work.

Impact and priority: high priority for credibility and clear business identification before wider promotion.

Recommendation: add the verified company details, identify Dale Sweatland and explain relevant industry experience. Keep professional background separate from claims about SEO Help’s client results.

Verification: compare the public details with the company record, inspect the rendered footer and About page, and check mobile presentation. Do not substitute invented reviews, client names or unsupported performance figures.

From findings to a workable plan

Know what to fix, why it matters and how to check it.

An agreed audit can cover crawlability, indexing, page content, internal links, mobile usability and the route to enquiry. The scope depends on your website, goals and access.

We separate confirmed problems, improvement opportunities and checks that still need evidence. Recommendations should include a priority, a practical action and a clear way to verify completion.

This extract is not a full audit. It does not demonstrate traffic growth, guaranteed rankings or completed conversion tracking.

Start with the questions your website needs to answer.

Tell us what you offer, who you want to reach and what is not working. We will discuss whether an audit is the right starting point and agree the scope before work begins.
